BE AS A WATERED GARDEN

Unmoved by drouth or storm cloud,
Resting in quietness,
Waiting calm and receptive
For the hand of God to dress,
Be as a watered garden
In a drear and desert place,
Quickened by showers of Spirit
And the sunlight of His grace.
Then in the fruit of His tending
The weary will find release
From the heat and stress of their journey
In oases of joy and peace.
