It is a wonderful privilege to...

It is a wonderful privilege to witness in today's world the healing power of Christian Science revealed by God to Mary Baker Eddy. My heart's desire is to live in conformity with the Bible declaration (Isa. 43:10), "Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen." I am grateful for the confidence in the future which Christian Science gives. Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says of this Science (Christian Science versus Pantheism, pp. 12, 13), "It is divinely true, and every hour in time and in eternity will witness more steadfastly to its practical truth."

I owe my life to Christian Science, for it healed me of tetanus when I was a child. After the more painful aspects of this illness had been healed and my legs still remained useless, my mother realized that I no longer believed her when she told me I would be able to walk again. I am so grateful to God that her expectancy of a complete healing never wavered. She arranged for us to attend a Christian Science lecture, and although I was only ten years old, I remember being conscious of the atmosphere of Love surrounding me at that lecture. I came away confident that I would be healed. Soon I walked again, and my recovery was complete.

I have had many healings in Christian Science. My desire to be more obedient to God and to listen for His voice restored normal hearing to an ear deafened by a punctured eardrum. After wearing glasses from the age of four, I was able to lay them aside more than four years ago. Through the firm work of a consecrated practitioner I experienced painless childbirth, when it had been predicted that a natural birth would never be possible. After one week's treatment by a practitioner our four-months-old son was healed of asthma so severe that he was unable to take his food and was losing weight. This healing occurred nine years ago and has been permanent.
