For some time it has been my desire to write of an experience that may give others courage in the face of what appears to be defeat in a business venture.

Before my father passed on, he and I had the controlling interest in an iron foundry. At his passing I was left with the responsibility of managing it, an unusual position for a young woman. At that time the business was such that it could not be sold as a going concern, and a sale would have meant a great loss to the investors. I was having help from a practitioner, and she encouraged me to put my whole trust in God as we are taught to do in Christian Science. Hymn No. 203 in the Christian Science Hymnal came to me at this time and gave me courage. Some of the words are as follows:
