I started attending the Christian Science Sunday School when I was a small child and rarely missed a session. When I was blinded by a firecracker, which went off in my face, I was all right again within a few hours as the result of the loving help of a practitioner. While away at college I continued to attend Sunday School, and I was healed through Christian Science treatment of a streptococcic throat infection so quickly that the school authorities did not have to notify my parents that I was ill.

After teaching school for a year, I became seriously ill with polio. I was so ill and frightened that I remember only that the practitioner and my parents were praying for me. Within a month I was able to walk normally, and there were no aftereffects. That was over four years ago, and there has been no recurrence of the disease.

One day it became necessary for me to drive a friend on a crowded highway to a town fifty miles away. Though very apprehensive about the trip, I knew that there could be no accident in divine Mind and that God would guide us to our destination.
