It is with sincere gratitude to God for the many blessings that have come to me and to members of my family through the study and application of Christian Science, discovered by Mary Baker Eddy, that I submit this testimony.

During the First World War, I was healed of influenza after doctors had despaired of my life. I had attended one Christian Science church service and was so uplifted that my desire was for more of the beautiful truths it presented. Also I had purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy and had committed to memory the Lord's Prayer and its spiritual interpretation (pp. 16, 17). I whispered this even in moments of unconsciousness, I was told later. God heard and healed me.

At another time I was healed of injuries received in an accident in my home. I was carried upstairs and placed on my bed. When I regained consciousness it was to hear the words of "the scientific statement of being" (ibid., p. 468). The truth was voiced audibly at my bedside for several hours by members of my family, and prayerful work was done by a practitioner. All needed readjustment was brought about through God's power and ever-presence.
