Christian Science was presented...

Christian Science was presented to me thirty-eight years ago by one who lovingly invited me to share her home. When she explained what Christian Science teaches and related healings which she had experienced, I accepted its logic at once, and I soon benefited by its application to daily living. It was not long before I received an instantaneous healing of a periodic internal difficulty which had troubled me since childhood. This healing came about simply through my friend's reading to me from the Bible and from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Gradually I became aware of the need of correcting false habits, among them the tendency to be critical and intolerant, I learned to think for myself and to express my own individuality, whereas previously I was hampered by believing that it was necessary to fit into a pattern which others would approve, regardless of whether or not it was the most intelligent thing to do. Headaches, colds, fallen arches, throat trouble, and numerous other complaints have been removed from my experience, sometimes by my reading the Bible, together with the writings of Mrs. Eddy, and applying my own knowledge of the revealed truth, and sometimes through the help of practitioners.

When my first husband suddenly passed on, an understanding of this blessed truth sustained me wonderfully. A number of weeks were spent awaiting the unfoldment of proper activity. My desire was to be led to do that which would enable me to bless and to be blessed, also to keep close to Christian Science. The answer came in the opportunity to take the nurses' training course at the Sanatorium of the Christian Science Benevolent Association in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
