Christian Science has enriched...

Christian Science has enriched my experience, improved my outlook, and tended to unself my purpose. I am deeply grateful to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for having revealed the true nature of God and man, which has brought about these blessings.

In the midst of a busy day, when nearly incapacitated by illness, I stopped for a few minutes in a Christian Science Reading Room. As I sat down at a desk I thought. What can possibly be accomplished in the brief time I have to spend here? Then my eyes rested on the Golden Text for that week's Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. It spoke of glorifying God and brought the comforting message I needed. I determined to devote all my thoughts to acknowledging God's power, glory, and ever-presence, thus denying sickness any presence or power. I continued to do this throughout the balance of the day and evening as I went about my duties.

When I arose the following morning only a faint trace of the illness remained, and it was quickly dispelled. This experience was a proof of Mrs. Eddy's observation that follows the enumeration of some of the healings which she had achieved for others (Unity of Good, p. 7): "Certain self-proved propositions pour into my waiting thought in connection with these experiences; and here is one such conviction: that an acknowledgment of the perfection of the infinite Unseen confers a power nothing else can."
