"Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable...

"Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift" (II Cor. 9:15). I write this testimony with a heart full of gratitude to God for the many blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science, which has given me a better understanding of man, made in the image and likeness of God. I should like to relate some healings with the hope that others may be helped by them as I have so often been helped by testimonies published in our Christian Science literature or given at Wednesday testimony meetings.

During the course of my work I had occasion to boil some wax. When I lifted if off the heater, it upset over my right hand. The shock and pain were severe, but I immediately started to declare the truth and to know that there were no accidents in God's kingdom and that, as His beloved child, I lived in His kingdom. I found myself repeating the truth aloud, even though I felt too shocked to think clearly. In a matter of two minutes all trace of pain and shock was gone. It took an hour to scrape the wax off my hand, as it had set hard; but I felt no pain at all, and the skin was not even red or sore. I am so very grateful to God for this proof that when we know the truth about a problem, it never fails to bring the solution.

Another wonderful healing was of what I believe would have been diagnosed as acute appendicitis. At first I was very fearful. Then the thought came to me: "There is no need for you to be ill. The remedy is in your own hands. Use your Christian Science." I lost all fear and thought of some of the truths I had learned. Then I began to repeat the words of the hymn beginning, "I walk with Love, along the way" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 139), a hymn which I have always loved. When I came to the line "I feel God's presence with me here," I stopped and declared that because God's presence fills all space, there cannot be any room for pain.
