After wearing glasses for twenty...

After wearing glasses for twenty years, I decided to work this problem out in Science. For some time each day I would declare that actually I did not see through matter and did not depend upon any material aid, since true vision is spiritual. I looked up references in Mrs. Eddy's works to eyes, senses, faculties, lens, and vision. One reference that lingered in my thought was from Science and Health. It reads (p. 407): "No faculty of Mind is lost. In Science, all being is eternal, spiritual, perfect, harmonious in every action."

I found much help in the Bible, where Peter lists a number of Christian attributes and then says (II Pet. 1:9), "He that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off." There was also much healing for me in the words of the master Christian, Christ Jesus (Matt. 5:8), "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." My sincere desire was to see God, good, everywhere.

I do not know just when the demonstration of my freedom was completed; but one day I found myself reading fine print without glasses, and I have not needed them since.—(Mrs.) Maria B. Worrall, Washington, District of Columbia.
