In Isaiah we read (55:1), "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price." I came thirsting and drank of the fountain of Truth and Love. As a result I have received many blessings and healings of various kinds, as well as a purification of thoughts and actions.

Through the earnest study and application of Christian Science I have been healed of the drinking and smoking habits of long standing. Grief at the passing of a loved one was overcome. Influenza was a very trying experience, but with the consecrated work of a practitioner and my own steadfast holding to the truth, the light dawned upon my consciousness, and I saw myself as God's perfect child. I knew that I was healed, even though it was some time before the evidence of the disease entirely disappeared. Another healing for which I wish to express gratitude was that of an infected toe.

When I became aware of a heart difficulty and the work I was doing for myself did not relieve the situation, I asked for help from a practitioner. She said, "Change your thinking about the heart giving life and realize that Life is God." The healing work was begun and was earnestly continued for some weeks. I did a great deal of studying in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and kept my thoughts lifted to God. The healing took place before I was aware that the condition had been overcome.

On another occasion blood poisoning developed in my foot. Again I asked for the help of a practitioner, and it was lovingly given. I told the practitioner that I had been bathing my foot in hot water, and her reply was, "Please let God handle this situation." I realized that mortal mind had been influencing me, and I immediately became obedient to the practitioner's request. As a result, God did handle the situation through the practitioner's earnest work, and the healing began to take place. In just a day or two the inflammation and swelling had disappeared, and I was free. This lesson of obedience has been of great help to me ever since, and I am most grateful for the healing experience.

The greatest of all my experiences, however, was the wonderful privilege of class instruction. This was indeed the pearl of great price. My heart overflows with gratitude for Christian Science and for all that it has done for me and for the whole world. I am grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for all the practitioners who so lovingly have helped me over the rough places, and for every opportunity to serve in any capacity to further the advancement of our great Cause.—Percy Ray Alcott, Jackson, Mississippi.
