I wish to express my gratitude...

I wish to express my gratitude for the Bible and for the Christian Science textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," in which Mary Baker Eddy says (p. 494). "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." The truth of her statement has been amply demonstrated to me.

Six years ago my plans to complete the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in my field of study were interrupted by the passing on of a loved one. All prospect of resuming this work appeared hopeless. Then my wife and I took up the study of Christian Science. Through it I was able to make a change in positions which permitted me to do further work for my degree. Later I attended graduate school.

God sustained me, as well as my wife and two daughters, while I was away from them, and I made the long trip home during both Christmas and spring vacations. Supply was provided for us all, and although I was holding a teaching position, I was able to take an almost full load of studies. My dissertation was successfully completed, and a written comprehensive examination, which lasted a total of sixteen hours, was passed. I also passed my final oral examination and received my doctoral degree. Through all this my health was maintained.

Our family has had other proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science. When my mother passed on, grief was overcome. My wife was protected from serious injury when her hand caught in the drying equipment of a washing machine. After she had read the Bible and Science and Health for a while, no mark was left. Our family has been singularly free from other accidents and from illness.

I want to express my gratitude to God for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and for Mrs. Eddy's wonderful revelation of Truth, which has brought new joy into our lives. —Earl W. Blank, Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
