FREEDOM THROUGH TRUTH

Often it is at the midnight hour, when all other helpers have failed and comforts fled, that Christian Science, with its healing and redemptive message, is brought into our lives. It comes revealing the sunshine of Truth and Love as an ever-present power in time of need, lifting the seeming gloom of disease, doubt, and hopelessness. Truth sheds its rays, showing man's oneness, or unity, with the Father-Mother God. Each day and hour the helpfulness of this truth is lighting our pathway. Our rejoicing over the fact that we have found the healing Christ and the true sense of life in Christian Science never ceases. New unfoldments and a clearer vision of how to walk in the way of righteousness are ever being revealed.

The examples set by Christ Jesus, and by Mary Baker Eddy in her obedience to our beloved Master's teachings, are constantly before us as guides. We, as Christian Scientists, learn to rejoice in the midst of problems. We find that the carnal mind does not always give up willingly. But the experiences which show the necessity of renouncing self afford new opportunities to prove the Christ, Truth, ever at hand to heal, to bless, and to reform.

Our dear Leader says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (pp. 66,67): "Sorrow has its reward. It never leaves us where it found us. The furnace separates the gold from the dross that the precious metal may be graven with the image of God. The cup our Father hath given, shall we not drink it and learn the lessons He teaches?" These wonderful words have brought solace to many.
