RADIO PROGRAM No. 54 - Freedom Through Right Decisions

On this program Forrest J. Struble of Chicago, Illinois, told of his own experience, as follows:

According to a medical diagnosis several years ago, I was suffering from a number of ailments which included a nervous breakdown; a back injury for which I needed to wear a steel-stayed corset and which injury was said to be permanent; also foot trouble which I was said to have been born with. I was offered relief from this trouble, but no cure. I wore supports outside as well as inside my shoes. However, the most difficult of all these ailments was an incurable rheumatism which at times confined me to bed for a period of, oh, from days to weeks. All these afflictions troubled me at the same time, and they all added up to semi-invalidism. At that particular time I was confined to bed with an attack of rheumatism and was taking much medicine and a number of shots every week. It was at this mental and physical ebb tide in my life that Christian Science came to me through my sister. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and he briefly explained what Christian Science could do for me and pointed out that when I was perfectly willing to rely entirely on God for healing, then I would have made an important decision in the right direction. That decision was not difficult to make. From that day on I had no more medical help whatsoever.

About a year later, one day I became suddenly conscious that I was entirely healed. I don't know when that healing occurred, but in that moment I realized that not once since having turned to God unreservedly through Christian Science had I been afflicted with any of these rheumatic attacks. I was completely free. I realized also in that moment that my back was entirely well, that I was not wearing the corset any longer, and as a matter of fact never needed it any more, never wore it again. As for my feet, they were in such fine condition that I didn't even think about them. I served in the armed forces in World War II for almost three years and in a special branch of the service which required an unusually stiff medical examination. These examinations showed no signs whatsoever of any former afflictions, but rather showed a state of most excellent health.
