ABILITY AND OPPORTUNITY

"The two largest words in the vocabulary of thought are 'Christian' and 'Science.' The former is the highest style of man; the latter reveals and interprets God and man; it aggregates, amplifies, unfolds, and expresses the All-God." So writes Mary Baker Eddy on page 10 of "No and Yes." Everything necessary for our welfare is to be found in the understanding and demonstration of Christian Science. God includes all good, and as we understandingly look to Him for everything we need we are abundantly supplied.

Christian Scientists should be among the most capable people in the world, for they have in Mrs. Eddy's writings the revelation that man is a spiritual idea, infinite and perfect, reflecting unlimited divine intelligence. It is their business, then, to express perfection in whatever task they perform, and they should not doubt their ability to achieve all good, but recognize that whatever they do should be done in fulfillment of God's plan and purpose.

God has a definite work for each one, and it is for us to be so alert that we shall recognize it. Paul understood this and declared (I Cor. 12:4-7): "Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal."
