THE SECRET PLACE OF SAFETY

The Bible teaches that the only sure way to have safety and protection is to abide in the secret place, where all is under the control of God. We read (Ps. 91:1), "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." The secret place is a place of freedom from danger or harm. It is a state of confidence and trust in God. It is ever present and available. It is the spiritual understanding of man as the likeness of God, Spirit, divine Life. This understanding dispels the illusion of a mortal and material universe and reveals man as the child of God, dwelling in the safety of His loving care.

But someone may say, "That is all very good, but what about accidents, which seem to occur on every side?" and, "Are the people to whom accidents happen outside the secret place?"

Accidents are caused by the failure to be spiritually alert, active, and at one with Mind and by the belief that man is mortal, subject to chance, change, and destruction. It is only this material sense of things that seems to suffer accident.
