Rheumatism and migraine troubled me from my youth, and the doctors could give me no hope that I would ever be free from these ills. In 1932 I became acquainted with a woman who had been healed through one treatment in Christian Science of a severe, stomach disorder, which seventeen doctors had pronounced incurable.

For several days after I met her, these words from the Bible kept coming to me; (Isa. 40:31): "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." On the following Sunday I decided to attend a Church of Christ, Scientist. During the service the soloist sang the very words that had been coming to me. This made a deep impression upon me; it was as though an inner voice were saving to me, "This is where you belong."

Soon I bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It roused such an interest in me that I read it day and night. After I had studied Christian Science for six months, I felt perfectly well, and I have had no further attack of either of the two illnesses mentioned.
