INSPIRED MESSAGES

"O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. ... I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth" (Dan. 10:19, 21). How deeply we can feel the compassionate touch of this angel summons which came to Daniel beside the river Hiddekel. The summons healed and uplifted him. The fact that he was greatly beloved of God, and therefore strengthened by divine power, dispelled physical weakness, sorrow, and fasting.

Man is the beloved of God, inspired by divine Love, uplifted by the power of Spirit, a citizen of the kingdom of heaven. It is just as important for us to understand that God loves us as it is to see that we love God. Sometimes, perhaps in moments of fear, doubt, or depression, we may ask ourselves: "Does God really love me? Is He watching over me, healing and inspiring me by His presence.?"

Perhaps in such moments, as at other times, the student will turn to the Bible and to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and study the Lesson-Sermon as given in the Christian Science Quarterly. With this study moments pass swiftly, the world of sense is shut out, and the world of Spirit asserts its supremacy. Like Daniel, he is set upon his feet and hears the angel message. "O man greatly beloved."
