CHRISTIAN SCIENCE IN EVERYDAY LIFE

A Woman who was a regular attendant at a church which was closed for the summer decided to go to a Christian Science service in order to find out what it was like. She thought the hymns impressive, but the passages read from the desk seemed to have no particular message for her at that time.

On the way out she noticed that an usher, who was gathering up copies of the Christian Science Quarterly, looked very happy. Pausing, she asked him if he had been healed through Christian Science. He hesitated a moment and then replied, "My business has been healed through Christian Science." The questioner walked on, wondering; but those few words were the beginning of a decided change in that woman's life. She had heard that Christian Science healed disease, but she was surprised to learn that it could also heal everyday affairs She procured Christian Science literature and soon commenced the study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. In due time she became a Christian Science practitioner.

It is only natural for one who has just become interested in Christian Science to ask if it applies to everyday life. Years ago, when the writer first caught a glimpse of the fact that she was not the tempest-tossed mortal she had thought, but was in reality a spiritual idea guided by a loving Father-Mother God, her whole world changed, and the truth revealed at that first awakening has been a beacon light leading her ever onward.
