My introduction to Christian Science...

My introduction to Christian Science many years ago resulted in an outstanding and instantaneous healing. I had suffered for over three years from a severe case of nervous indigestion, and although I had been under the care of two different physicians. I had found no relief, but instead grew worse.

One day, when I was feeling unusually miserable, a dear one with whom I was staying called her neighbor, who was a Christian Science practitioner, to talk with me. She came immediately and very lovingly told me about Christian Science, of which I knew nothing. She denied that food could hurt me or that anything can harm one of God's children.

At my request she said that she would help me, and putting in my hands a copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, she told me to read beginning with the words (p. 390): "We cannot deny that Life is self-sustained, and we should never deny the everlasting harmony of Soul, simply because, to the mortal senses, there is seeming discord."
