Signs of the Times

From an article in the Outlook
Santa Monica, California

We have evidence today that the demand for Bibles is on the increase not only in America, but throughout the world, even in predominantly non-Christian countries. Dr. Eugene Nida, secretary for translations of the American Bible Society, reports after a world-wide tour of thirty countries that Bibles are wanted more than ever before. 1952 the Society distributed 13,369,030 Bibles or portions of Bibles, surpassing any other year but one. In Mexico the distribution increased 115 per cent over that of 1951; in Thailand, 40 per cent over the average of four preceding ears: in Brazil, 160 per cent.

Here then is added evidence of renewed interest in religion and religious values throughout the world. We have already seen indications m this country with statistics on increased church membership and attendance. The world seems to be witnessing a spiritual revival.
