For many years I did not know what it was to be well and happy, and I experienced much lack and discord. Since I took up the study of Christian Science, however, my needs have been met, my health has been restored, and much happiness and joy have been experienced. I can never be grateful enough that I was led to the pearl of great price, the truth which makes men free, exemplified by Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and revealed to this age by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who was pure enough to receive this message from God and obedient enough to write it down for the benefit of mankind.

A healing for which I am very grateful was that of a severe pain in my side. When I called a friend and asked for help, she came to me at once. "Sit down," she said, "and let me read you an article in The Christian Science journal." My first thought was, I can't sit down; I am too miserable. Then I thought, If she is kind enough to come to help me I must be obedient; so I sat down. By the time she had finished reading, the pain was gone.

I have had healings of sick headaches, influenza, cuts, burns, and the effects of wasp stings by heeding Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 393), "Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation."
