TRUE BUSINESS

Business is activity. In speaking of activity Mary Baker Eddy says in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 159), "The infinite will not be buried in the finite; the true thought escapes from the inward to the outward, and this is the only right activity, that whereby we reach our higher nature." How important, then, it is that right thinking escape outward and manifest itself in true business.

True business is God's activity. It is the utilization of spiritual ideas, which flow uninterruptedly from infinity, the source of all good. These ideas are always perfect, boundless, and inexhaustible, never decreasing, but ever the manifestation of the infinite. That which God knows, and nothing else, is the divine fact of business, for the infinite must be omniscient, all-knowing.

Since God is omnipresent good, true business is ever present and always good. It manifests the continuous, harmonious flow of Mind's ideas and is subject to no ebb and flow, no depression or recession. That which is divinely true of business is God-sustained and universal. Because goodness is immutable, good business cannot become bad business. True business is right thinking escaping from the inward to the outward; it is not something outside which we must secure, but it is the right activity whereby we express our higher nature.
