REPRESENTATIVE OF OUR CAUSE

[Extracts from reports prepared by branch church executive boards for the Reading Room Division]

Youngstown, Ohio

On Sunday, December 2, 1951, our Christian Science Reading Room was officially opened in its new ground-floor quarters. Since the letter from The Christian Science Board of Directors for July 30, 1948, had been shared with them, our members were mindful of the Directors' counsel. In July, 1951, with the wholehearted support of the members, our board was authorized by them to take all necessary steps toward the establishing of the Reading Room in accordance with the Directors' counsel. Our steps were taken in full confidence, with gratitude for and trust in the guidance of divine Mind.

Our new location is in one of the busiest areas of our city, yet it was at once available. In fact, we were sought after as tenants. A distinguished architect, though not a Christian Scientist, offered consultant services without charge. The builder, workers, building materials, new equipment, all supplies and moneys, were available as we needed them. Financial aid and support have been lovingly given us by members of Second Church of Christ. Scientist, this city, with which we were formerly associated in the maintenance of a jointly supported Reading Room, as well as by those in our congregation not yet affiliated with the church.
