For many years Christian Science has been my only physician. About twenty years ago I was healed through this Science of a very bad case of hemorrhoids after a doctor had advised an operation. Following the birth of our third son I was healed of anemia and nervous exhaustion when these words of a hymn by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, came to me as the still, small voice of Truth (Poems, p. 75):

"Tis the Spirit that makes pure,
That exalts thee, and will cure
All thy sorrow and sickness and sin."

When our youngest son was four years old I returned from the store one day and was told that he had been hit by a car and taken to the hospital, as he was badly hurt. All the way to the hospital I declared, "God is his Life." When I arrived at the hospital the child seemed to be in great pain. However, after I had given him some of the truths of Christian Science he quieted down. Then he looked at me and said, "Mommy, I'm a thousand times glad that I'm a Christian Scientist." The medical diagnosis was proved false, and to the amazement of the community in which we lived we took him home the following day. He had no medical treatment either while in the hospital or later, and his recovery was rapid. "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword" (Hebr. 4:12).
