My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science was that of a mental breakdown. I do not know the exact time the healing took place, but I was healed when I saw that I need not suffer from the thoughts of others, for when my own thoughts are filled with Truth and Love, nothing can harm me.

The kindness and patience of the practitioners who stood by me during that period will always be remembered. Through their spiritual guidance and the study of the Bible and of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy I learned that God gives us the necessary strength and courage to carry on, to work out our own salvation, and to overcome the belief that there is another power apart from Him. Putting this understanding into practice, I have progressed spiritually. Our Master said (Luke 12:32), "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." My comprehension of Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health, (pp. 470. 471), "The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science," made it possible for me to forget the errors of the past and go forward with rejoicing.

During the intervening years I have had many opportunities to prove the healing power of Christian Science. On more than one occasion children who have been placed in my care have responded readily to the understanding I have gained through my study of Christian Science of the power of Truth and Love.
