During the past forty years the understanding of God which I have gained through Christian Science has met my every need. Although I have had many physical healings and am grateful, the spiritual growth that has resulted is vastly more important to me.

Among the physical healings I have experienced are those of facial neuralgia, tonsillitis, a serious burn caused by spilling very hot fat on the front of my ankle, and a serious case of heart trouble. I am also grateful for protection while nursing a case of black smallpox. During this time a Christian Science practitioner worked for me, and after three weeks I returned home with the consent of the health authorities. They permitted me to do this nursing without vaccination, and I did not contract this disease.

I am well past threescore years of age and do not wear glasses for reading or working. Attacks of nausea which persisted over a period of years were healed when I ceased to depend wholly on a practitioner and made an earnest effort to work for myself. When the last attack came I seemed helpless, but managed to rise and move about the room and sing Mrs. Eddy's inspiring hymns and others from the Christian Science Hymnal until I felt their joy-bringing influence. This healing has been permanent.
