THE LIGHT OF TRUTH

I Stand on higher ground today in praise
Of Thee: all beauty, goodness, truth, and love.
I sing in joy that Thou, O God, canst raise
The thoughts of all to purer things above.
A ray of sun reflects the central force
Of sun and robs no other of this might;
Guard me, O Truth, from placing selfish course
Between me and Thy heavenly guiding light.
Help me to purify my daily thought,
To spurn the senses that would have their way,
That I may dwell in realms that Mind has wrought,
Of changeless peace, where wisdom has full sway.
And now as I behold reality,
Love, Thou eternal Light, be Life to me.
