Reports of Radio Programs Encouraging

Arkansas

Responses to our radio programs requesting information on Christian Science noticeably increased during the year. Evidence of growing interest in our transcribed programs is continually being reported. Several Reading Room librarians have reported Reading Room contacts that indicate the impact of these most helpful programs on the general public. One librarian wrote:

"A young man came into the Reading Room one morning and just looked around. I asked him if he had ever visited a Christian Science Reading Room before. He said: 'No, but I live in a small town about thirty miles from here, and I listen to your radio programs and hear them mention your Reading Rooms. I am a stranger here, and I have to wait until tomorrow to start a new job. I have several hours to spend, so I thought I'd come here.' He spent several hours reading our literature."
