OMNIPRESENCE IS

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee: yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" (Isa. 41:10). Over and over again in the Bible we come across passages such as the above, which bring us comfort and encouragement in our hour of need.

On many occasions Christ Jesus besought his disciples and others to have no fear. It was because he knew the allness of God's presence that he was so insistent about it. Fear is then never a fact, nor is it concerned about that which is true or real. Fear results from ignorance of the omnipresence of God, Spirit, divine Love, who fills all space. Always we may know, therefore, that where fear seems to be, actually omnipresence is.

How can omnipresence be understood? Christian Science teaches us that at this moment God is All, and He is good. God is also Truth. Therefore omnipresence must include only that which is true and good and must be synonymous with perfection. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, tells us in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 353): "Perfection underlies reality. Without perfection, nothing is wholly real." It logically follows that in reality nothing apart from God, or Truth, can possibly be present.
