I was enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School when I was old enough to attend and was brought up in a Christian Science home. I am grateful that Christian Science has been my only physician and medicine. I have experienced and witnessed many healings, such as those of colds, earache, rheumatism, sore throat, influenza, and other inharmonious conditions.

I should like to relate an experience I had during World War II. My husband was stationed at an Army post where we had living quarters. One morning I awoke with all the symptoms of influenza, and as my husband left for duty, he recommended that I call a Christian Science Wartime Minister for help in Christian Science. However, I felt that I could handle the situation through my own understanding of man's relationship to God. I read as much as I felt I could and remained in bed all that day.

It happened to be Wednesday, and I had a great desire to attend the Christian Science testimony meeting that evening and to join my husband there. When I got out of bed, however, I was so weak I did not see how I could possibly walk to the bus. I immediately put aside self-pity and knew that it was right for me to go and that my desire to do the right thing would certainly bring a blessing. I arrived at church without difficulty, and during the service I realized that I was free. I was grateful that when it was time for testimonies, I arose and acknowledged my healing.
