Christian Science came to my attention when a woman by whom I was employed was quickly healed through the work of a practitioner of a condition which two surgical operations had failed to help.

Through the reading of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy I was healed of fallen arches, corns on both feet, constipation, the smoking habit, and a fear of lack. While a practitioner was helping me to overcome an inharmonious condition in the home, a growth on one side of my face disappeared, although I had never mentioned it to the practitioner.

After I had had a tooth extracted, I found that part of the root had been left deeply embedded in the jaw. I earnestly studied page 1 of Science and Health and realized something of my spiritual selfhood; the piece of root became loose, worked its way to the surface, and came out.
