NATURAL GOOD

It would appear from the general acceptance of the necessity for sickness, inharmony, and lack that evil is more powerful than good, error more powerful than Truth. Christian Science proves that the opposite is true: that it is as natural for good to be manifested in our experience as for flowers to turn toward the sun.

In the first chapter of Genesis we read, "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." We have authority, then, for concluding that whatever is good is of God, and that whatever is not good He did not make, and therefore it is without reality and power. Since God "in the beginning" made everything good, as the Bible states, then all His ideas eternally represent Him. It is natural, therefore, for man, His image and likeness, to express good.

If one is tempted to think of himself as material, he need only read the first chapter of Genesis to discover that he is in reality made in the image and likeness of God and is therefore spiritual and perfect. If tempted to think that evil is more powerful than good, he need but remember that as God's child he inherits only the qualities of his Father-Mother God.
