It is now over twenty years since I commenced the study of Christian Science. During this time I have experienced many physical healings and have proved the power of divine Mind, as revealed through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and other works by Mary Baker Eddy, to harmonize, adjust, and resolve business problems.

An instantaneous healing which took place when I was quite a young student stands out as a positive and clear proof of the power of the right idea operating in human consciousness. I became ill and had to take to my bed. I worked as we are taught in Christian Science to see my perfect self as a child of God. The following morning the condition had worsened, so much so that I was unable to move my legs. I did not know then and do not know now the medical name given to the complaint, but as I lay in bed I found myself thinking of a business colleague who had been unkind to me over a number of years, and about whom I had felt very resentful. Almost immediately a statement from Science and Health came into my thought (p.454): "Love for God and man is the true incentive in both healing and teaching. Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way." All sense of resentment faded from my thought, and an overwhelming sense of love and kindliness towards my colleague flooded my consciousness; and with it came my healing—instantaneous and permanent. I arose from my bed, dressed, and went to my office, resuming my normal work.

My testimony would be incomplete without expressing my gratitude for the Christian Science organization. I am also grateful for the privilege of class instruction and membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.—Theodore L. Thompson, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.
