It is with joy and with gratitude to God for all that Christian Science has done for me that I submit the following testimony. For about ten years I was a semi-invalid. The condition was caused by frequent painful and exhausting attacks of migraine headaches. Added to this, I was suffering from stomach trouble, and the time came when life seemed unendurable.

Then a loving relative and several friends presented Christian Science to me. I knew it was a beautiful religion, but at first I could not accept the fact of its healing power. My study of Christian Science was begun with one statement from our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. It was this (p. 304): "Harmony is produced by its Principle, is controlled by it and abides with it."

I wanted harmony, and I knew that only God, divine Principle, could produce this for me. The testimonies in The Christian Science Journal and the Sentinel gave me courage to press on. Eventually radical reliance was placed on our Father-Mother God. Drugs, including sleeping pills which had been prescribed by specialists and taken daily for twenty years, were discarded and never again desired or even thought of. Many false character traits, such as self-righteousness and a tendency to criticize, have been overcome to a great degree.
