I cannot help expressing my deep gratitude to God for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. This Science was presented to me when I had just lost every material possession and was burdened with a large debt. Thanks to the study of its wonderful teachings I realized that I first had to learn to correct my faults, and finally to love, for I had hated those who seemed to be the cause of my financial ruin. The following passage from the Bible helped me to understand the nature of the only debt I had: "Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law" (Rom. 13: 8). I saw that I did not need money, but needed to realize that I was the true reflection of Love. Through the wonderful work done in Christian Science at this time I was able to liquidate my debts in a remarkable way, and my financial affairs have since been harmonious.

When I was having class instruction, my teacher called me one afternoon to say that a practitioner friend had telephoned that my wife had suddenly been taken to the maternity hospital following an attack of albuminaturia, and that I should return home, as the situation seemed serious. My teacher helped me to maintain the truth, and we postponed my departure for a few hours, awaiting further news. I was a great many miles from home, and when I went back to my hotel, I opened the Bible and came upon this inspiring passage: "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb" (Rev. 22:1). I was so uplifted by this passage, which caused me to recognize the purity of Life, in which there is no error, that I was calmed and felt absolutely sure of Truth's victory. That evening the news was more hopeful, so I was able to remain until the class teaching was finished. When I arrived home, I found my wife able to leave the hospital, to the great astonishment of the doctors. I shall never be able adequately to thank my teacher and the consecrated practitioner for their help.

I was also instantaneously healed, with the help of a practitioner, of an attack of appendicitis. About four years ago a fractured rib and severe internal contusions resulting from a fall were healed with no material aid or doctor's help. Three days after the fall I was completely well and was able to resume my normal activities, feeling no pain.
