My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science was that of a spinal injury. The family physician pronounced it a broken back, but being unwilling to accept his verdict, I went from one hospital to another for almost eight months. I was in constant pain and had lost all hope of recovery. In desperation, I finally telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner whose name had been given to my sister some months earlier.

I visited with her for two hours. She assured me of God's infinite love and care for all of His children. Her assurances were so confidently and joyously expressed that I accepted the statements without any mental reservations. Some of the depression and fear which had bound me disappeared even while I was with her, and there was a slight lessening of the spinal and abdominal tension.

The next day I borrowed a copy of the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and began to study the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. The practitioner worked earnestly for me for three months, and during that period the spine gradually became straight. At the end of another month the healing was complete.
