AN USHER SPEAKS
The
feast is set. Love's honored guests
I wait to greet.
Dear Father, may they heed Thy call;
Within this house is room for all,
And bread and meat.
Many of them so oft before
This path have trod.
And others hesitant may be:
But in each comer may I see
Thy face, dear God.
So with Thy likeness may they all
Be satisfied,
A healing gained, a blessing shared.
The feast is set; my heart prepared;
The door is wide.
