In Psalms we read (Ps. 23:1), "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." Through the study of Christian Science I have proved these words true. In the business world Christian Science, when correctly applied, has solved every problem for me and protected me from the many pitfalls that appear so attractive to young people.

Among many physical healings which I have experienced and which evidence Truth's healing power, two stand out. When I had an accident on a tennis court, my companions sent me to a hospital. Upon regaining consciousness, I was informed by a surgeon that an immediate operation was necessary, and he added that I would be inactive for some months and that any strenuous action might tear open the jagged wound. Left alone with this verdict, I quietly turned to God and knew that perfect Mind is the only cause and that its effect must always be perfection. I declared that, as a spiritual idea, my real selfhood was clad in the seamless robe of Christ. Mrs. Eddy says in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 242), "The divine Science of man is woven into one web of consistency without seam or rent." In less than an hour I walked out healed and humbly grateful for the ever-present healing Christ.

On another occasion I was knocked down by a car. I received minor injuries, and an arm and knee were dislocated. I was taken home, and a practitioner was asked for help. Work was immediately taken up, and in a short while I felt the bone in my arm slip into place. Although it was a week before I could walk with complete freedom, I was absent only one day from business. I learned that "only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized" (ibid., p. 167) .
