Joy being spiritual, it is therefore...
Joy being spiritual, it is therefore eternal, an attribute of Life, Truth, and Love, from which we are never separated, no matter what experiences we may encounter. Healing is accomplished when the joyous truths of divine Principle are poured into consciousness to the utter obliteration of the error that is claiming expression.
Some time ago a severe sense of error was thrust upon me. It came from without, but had my thought been entirely free from fear and resentment, I feel sure that I should not have had to meet such a situation. The resulting healing, however, was to the glory of God. I had stopped at a house to inquire my way, and since there was no surrounding fence or sign, I was not prepared for an attack by a large police dog which came from the rear of the house. I stood still, realizing that Love alone was present. Finally, I commanded the dog to go away, and he turned and disappeared behind the house.
His four tusks had pierced the flesh, and part of my skirt was in shreds. A large area of flesh turned dark, and for a day or two walking was difficult, but with the help of a practitioner I was able to overcome the fear and resentment and to realize that as God's representative I had in truth never been attacked. In other words, when I could absolutely impersonalize the error, see its powerlessness to control the dog's mistress or me, I was again able to express the joy of divine Love and was healed.
