FEARLESS BEING
The solution of every problem is found in an understanding and demonstration of the fact that God is infinite Mind and that His manifestation is infinite. Starting with this premise, we reach the logical conclusion that all real being must be found in and of Mind. This is indicated in these thought-awakening lines of "the scientific statement of being," which Mary Baker Eddy sets forth in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 468): "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual."
In studying the above statement one realizes that Mrs. Eddy uses the word infinite twice. Not only does she state that Mind is infinite, but also that the manifestation is infinite. It is evident that Mind's manifestation, or expression, must be exactly like its original in substance and quality. In order to help us realize our true nature, our Leader reminds us that the manifestation of infinite Mind is likewise infinite.
Infinite Mind implies that which is self-existent, self-perpetuating, self-acting, and self-evident, complete, entire, and perfect, without a single element of error. It is impossible to associate fear with any of these qualities, and in their realization we discover our fearless being. If we rise to the full understanding that there is nothing within or without infinite Mind, Love, but perfection, there will be nothing for us to fear. Furthermore, if we recognize ourselves as in reality the very manifestation of infinite, perfect Love, we cannot be afraid. There is no fear in perfection. There is nothing in perfection to produce fear. Hence we can effectually affirm that in the infinitude of perfection there is nothing to fear, nor is there anything of which to be afraid.
