ANNUAL MEETING
A holy
hush fell on this holy ground.
The while the lovely chimes a welcome rang.
When orderly and eager steps had found
Appointed places, many voices sang
A loved familiar hymn: all gathered there
With one accord, from far and near, to be
Partakers of the atmosphere of prayer
And praise, and of each blessed activity.
The Father's business, as it must, requires
Sowing, planting, and reaping day by day.
And then the glad accounting which inspires
Desire for service in the Father's way.
The annual harvest shows abundant yield,
For laborers are many in His field.
