TWO LOGICIANS

Of Jesus, the master Christian, Mary Baker Eddy writes, "Jesus of Nazareth was the most scientific man that ever trod the globe" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. p. 313). As the living witness of the divine law he set forth, he stood as authority and glorious proof. His love, spirituality, and wisdom were at one with his ability to expound, teach, and demonstrate this law for the enlightenment and salvation of his followers for all time.

In such proclamations as, "I and my Father are one" (John 10:30), and, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6), referring to the Christ, he indicated the unity of his true selfhood with God. The understanding of this unity enabled him to furnish positive proof of the truths he uttered. Also, he could make no statement which was not founded in fact—the omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, of the Divine Being.

Since Jesus, as his works proved him to be, "was the most scientific man that ever trod the globe," he was therefore the greatest logician. His Science was not in a specialized, limited field, but comprehended all true knowledge and inspired all true search and discovery. Did he not importune (Matt. 7:7), "Seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you"?
