TRUE REVOLUTION IS SPIRITUAL

Today , as we examine the national and international problems facing our nation, we can see how prophetic were the words of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, at the close of the last century, as found in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 129): "I reluctantly foresee great danger threatening our nation,—imperialism, monopoly, and a lax system of religion. But the spirit of humanity, ethics, and Christianity sown broadcast—all concomitants of Christian Science —is taking strong hold of the public thought throughout our beloved country and in foreign lands, and is tending to counteract the trend of mad ambition."

This is a revolutionary period. On all sides technological developments are revolutionizing mankind's way of life. And modern inventions are bringing about social upheavals even among the primitive peoples of the globe. Witnessing the nations struggling through these catastrophic material changes, through technological, social, and political revolution, thinking persons are beginning to speak of another kind of revolution, namely, an ideological revolution.

Describing the revolutionary effect of Truth in human consciousness, the prophet Ezekiel wrote as follows centuries ago (21:27): "I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him."
