In gratitude and love to God, I...

In gratitude and love to God, I desire to tell about some of the blessings which the gradual unfoldment of the truth in the study of Christian Science has brought to me. I have been healed of nervous headaches, muscular rheumatism, constipation, dyspepsia, throat infection, influenza, bilious attacks, and various other ailments. The quick realization that "there is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter," as Mrs. Eddy says in "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p. 468), dislodged a fishbone in my throat; and the removal of fear in large measure is indeed cause for sincere gratitude. I ceased to be affected by the erring supposition that at a certain period in life one can suffer from a change in the system, when I saw that there is no truth in material law, since God made all and good changes not.

Although grateful for the physical benefits received, I am more sensible of my great indebtedness to God, to Christ Jesus, and to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for mental and moral purification and the knowledge that "now are we the sons of God" (I John 3:2). I am truly grateful for the feast prepared in the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, for all the periodicals, and for the practitioners.—(Mrs.) Clara E. Gibbons, Compton, Wolverhampton, England.
