Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

Wellsboro Gazette

Willsboro, Pennsylvania (First Church).

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Wellsboro, at 141 Main Street, was dedicated at services held on Sunday, October 23, 1949, in the morning and afternoon in the church edifice, recently remodeled and furnished in keeping with the purpose for which it is to be used.

Christian Science was introduced to Wellsboro, so far as can be known, in the year 1890. However, it was not until 1895 that several individuals began to read the Lesson-Sermons given in the Christian Science Quarterly, congregating in one another's homes.
