I often felt that daily study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly was only repetition and wondered what value it had. However, this was a "must," and I kept studying daily, for I had been told that this regular study would be a big help, and, if nothing else, it would be a protection. This was certainly proved to me three and a half years ago.

One night I awakened with violent stomach pains, convulsions of the stomach, and a terrific headache; also I could not speak clearly. This continued all night. In the morning I dressed and left my room, still sick and delirious. At the end of that day I had no control of my body and its organs and functions.

I went to the office, and my office associate tried to reach a practitioner for me, but she was out of the city for several days. This associate, not being a Christian Scientist, called a physician, whose statement to the Cincinnati General Hospital was as follows: "The patient, Mr. Earl Pfitzer, a possible 'brain tumor case' does not have the care and cannot obtain the care that such a case requires, and in my opinion should be immediately hospitalized so that diagnostic care and treatment measures may be efficiently applied."
