I should like to express my gratitude...

I should like to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and my family during many years. Our two children, who have had the benefit of Christian Science treatment all their lives, never have known the taste of medicines, and they have been protected from contagious and infectious diseases.

While in the Navy during World War I, our son was badly burned on the face by a boiler explosion. Christian Science treatment was given, and when the bandages were removed there was not even a scar. At another time, while he was tightening a wire clothesline, the wire flew back, breaking both lenses of his glasses and filling his eyes with fine particles of glass. We worked in Christian Science during the night, and the next morning when he appeared for breakfast, both eyes were clear and shining. During the day a large piece of glass worked out of the corner of one eye.

Some time ago, while I was driving through an intersection, a large car crashed into mine. I was thrown against the opposite window, dislocating my shoulder, cutting my head, and bruising my right cheek. The man driving the other car wanted to take me to a hospital, but I was near my daughter's home, so decided to drive there. Later my daughter took me to the Christian Science Benevolent Association on Pacific Coast, where I worked, and where loving help was given me. When the insurance agent called on the third day, he was astounded at the progress I had made. I was able to be back on duty running an elevator at the end of eight days, using my arm to open and close the elevator door, and I have not had any trouble with my arm or shoulder since. The gash and bruises on my head healed in three days.
