Christian Science came into our home in the year 1910 when my mother was healed of grief, occasioned by the passing on of my father. Since then it has been our only help and comforter. I was privileged to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, and there I learned to love our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. That experience was followed by membership in a branch church and in The Mother Church and by class instruction. I have had the privilege of serving many years in a Church of Christ, Scientist, and am grateful.

Christian Science has been wonderful in our rearing of three children, and I can truthfully say that not a single problem has arisen that has not been solved through the application of this Science, many times with the help of a practitioner, but even more often through our own work.

One healing which was a severe test of our understanding occurred when our son was about four years old. He had been ailing for a day or two and, as usual, had asked that I "read from the books." One evening he was lying on a couch, and I was rereading the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, following it with the Ninety-first Psalm, when I heard a little noise and noticed that he had lost consciousness. His eyes were open, but they did not see. His father seemed very fearful, but I am grateful for the added strength God supplied, for I declared vehemently, "God is your Life!" I rushed to the telephone to call a practitioner. Help was given instantly, and by the time I reached upstairs he had revived. We read, and worked, and prayed a good part of the night, and in a day or two all was well.
