GOD WILLING

Deo volente too often has meant
That misery and grief from heaven are sent.

Deo volente, were it understood,
Is God willing mankind all that is good.

Deo volente, when murmured in prayer,
Brings help to those knowing that God is there.

Deo volente, if expectantly said,
Is the Father supplying His children with bread.

Deo volente! In thanksgiving we raise
Our Te Deum of joy, our paean of praise! Fanny Montague Hunt
