Wherever fear and its dangers have been recognized, efforts have been made to conquer it with a show of force and with rousing speeches dealing with power and strength. The Bible, which also concerns itself with fear, has a different method of dealing with it. It does not argue fear away, for it knows it would only return again. It does not enlist force to war upon it. . . . The Bible applies the antidote which alone can overcome and conquer fear. It is that perfect love of which it is said in I John, "Perfect love casteth out fear."
